Big Trouble in Little China was one of the most interesting and immersive movies in the past few decades which have managed to bring in quite a lot of fun and value to the overall movie watching experience. Being able to see a mysterious underworld located right under our own world is astounding, but the main feature was defeating an ancient sorcerer. Sure, if you see Big Trouble in Little China right now it will seem dated, but the idea is really cool, and that's what enticed The Rock to think about creating a remake.Yes, not a sequel to the story, instead it will be a full-on remake that will maintain the same fun and appeal from the original story, while also updating the visuals, adding more interesting effects and visuals while also sprucing up the story a little bit maybe. The main idea here is that while the original did cater more to the Japanese and Chinese audiences, the western ones also liked the great ideas so a remake is not that far fetched.However, the remake is still in the early stages, because, according to The Wrap, The Rock will take the role of Jack Burton, the main character and he will actually produce the film via his Seven Bucks Production company.Another detail that might be exciting for some is that Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller are writing which, considering their great titles and experience, gives us hope that this Big Trouble in Little China remake will actually be a very good and fun experience for us to check out.We have to wonder which will be the direction that this movie will take, and how impressive will it be as a whole, because there is indeed a lot of content and fun to be had here, but it all comes down to The Rock and the script writers in order to adapt the Big Trouble in Little China story to our timeConsidering the track record that The Rock has and the great experience of the writers, I personally believe that this movie will exceed expectations.Unfortunately, since there is no release date nor something related to the story or the changes that come out of it, we can only hope that the Big Trouble in Little China remake will be unique on its own and not just a simple reposition of the original with new visuals, as that will be a shame.So, we are definitely looking forward to the Big Trouble in Little China remake and while there's no info available, we are certain that The Rock will pay respect to the original while also bringing in something new.
