Audiosurf 2 is one of those games that I expected with interest after it was announced. It was one of those titles that do the Steam Early access system right because it did sit there for quite a while, around 1 year and a half, but in the end managed to provide a very interesting gameplay! But what is Audiosurf 2? As you would expect, this is a sequel to the cult hit Audiosurf, which was a game that allowed us to generate a racing course based on the music we played. The idea remains the same here as well, because you need to guide your ship with your mouse in order to acquire all the colors that you are guided by the music which plays right now in the background. While the idea remains the same, Audiosurf 2 does bring in quite a lot of improvements because it allows you to generate a course that's more visually impressive and, maybe the best part, offers a lot more interaction with the gamer. While the first game was great and one of the main titles that started the craziness with the rhythm games, the reality is that this title takes the whole experience to a whole new level with the help of some new features. This time, we actually get a wakeboarding mode that enables us to distort the songs and not only that, it actually features two boats that allow us to pull of tricks which are even more visually impressive than you would expect. Yes, the first game didn't have such a thing, and this is what makes Audiosurf 2 quite interesting, because this tiny change does shift the gameplay experience quite a lot. They also added a new Audiosprint mode where we need to jump as well as duck obstacles for the first time in the series. I found the new mode to be particularly interesting when it comes to the overall gameplay and it's really cool to see the craziness from beyond you screen. Music is really nice, but there aren't that many tracks, instead you manage to use your own in order to generate racing tracks to be perused at all times. For the first time in the series, we now have a local cooperative mode that actually supports up to 8 players, which for me is quite interesting and definitely a lot of fun.So, is Audiosurf 2 a game we should play? Considering the way it's played and the variety of gameplay provided here, I have to say that it does a great job in providing us with a lot of fun and variety. It's nice to play your own music, and the concept only gets better in the new entry of this series. The complete support for Linux and Mac also add up to the nice list of features that the game provides, and I have to say that I am impressed with how it plays and works as a whole. I definitely recommend Audiosurf 2 to everyone that wants a solid, action packed game, it's really fun!9/10
