Preventing overheating or being cold is an important consideration for divers. You can still overheat during the September weather. Before the dive be sure to get all of your gear ready and assembled or laid out before you put on your wet or dry suit. If needed get in the water with your suit on to cool and then get out and put on your scuba gear. During the dive if you are hot and in a wet suit open the neck to let some water enter and cool you. After the dive take your gear and suit off right away and then get dry weather / temperature appropriate clothing on, especially in the cooler fall evenings.
