A modified front-end structure, and new available active braking system helped the mid-size sedan achieve the institute's highest designation. On its way to earning the coveted "plus" rating, Fusion earned the highest score of "superior" for front crash prevention after successfully avoided collisions in both 12 and 25 mph track tests thanks to optional front crash prevention system. Furthermore, Fusion earned the highest rating of "good" for all five crashworthiness assessments, including the notorious small-overlap front test."The 2017 Ford Fusion is our most advanced car yet and we're proud to see it recognized by NHTSA and the IIHS for its safety performance too," said Bill Strickland, chief program engineer, Ford Motor Company. |Tom's Ford Blog Ford Increases Availability of SYNC 3Yesterday, Ford Motor Company announced that it is expanding the availability of its SYNC 3 connectivity platform, which enables the compatibility of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, to all 2017 Ford vehicles. Ford's platform-centric approach, which applies new technology across the lineup instead of to individual vehicles, has allowed the automaker to quickly roll out the updated technology. Furthermore, updates will be made available via Wi-Fi, ensuring that the system can keep up with the latest technology."SYNC 3 is already a major leap forward in terms of functionality, simplicity, and user experience - Ford's promise that every new model now ships 'Smartphone-ready' is huge," said Jeffrey Hannah, Director of North America for global automotive technology research firm SBD. |Tom's Ford Blog 2016 Ford Escape Vs 2016 Honda Cr-V The small SUV market has been increasing over the past few years, but buyers are still comparing the sales-leading models, the 2016 Ford Escape and 2016 Honda CR-V. Both cars are offering style and technology at similar prices too. Both vehicles are also available in many trims and styles. But while you need to upgrade to a more expensive trim level in the Honda, Ford allows for upscale options on lower trims, which creates a more personal car for you!The 2016 Ford Escape is available in three trim levels, with three engine choices, and two drivetrain options. The 2016 Honda CR-V is available in five trims, with one engine, and two drivetrains. You think with more trims, more features would be available, but in order to get leather, different colors, or even a sunroof you have to upgrade to a new trim and increase the cost! In the 2016 Ford Escape you can get leather and a panoramic sunroof found in the Titanium trim as an option on the SE, so you can still get the upscale features, without paying for features you don't want from a higher trim. The 2016 Honda CR-V has a VTEC 4-cylinder with a CVT that has been getting mixed reviews from critics, as it is a departure from fun to drive Honda's of the past. The 2016 Ford Escape has two EcoBoost engine choices to increase performance, and a responsive 6-speed Automatic transmission with a sport mode. The Escape's steering feel and chassis are getting rave reviews from critics who are considering it the most nimble SUV in the class.Just because the 2016 Ford Escape handles like a small car doesn't mean it can't tow like a big one! The Escape has a maximum tow rating of 3,500 lbs while the 2016 Honda CR-V can only tow 1,500 lbs. And this small car feel doesn't affect the inside on the Ford Escape either. The Escape has better front headroom and legroom at 39.9" and 43.1". The Honda can't compete with 38" and 41.3". Throw in the 2016 Ford Escape's standard rearview camera, 5-star safety rating, and SYNC technologies and I think we have a winner here. The 2016 Ford Escape can park itself too, can the Honda do that?Check out our new inventory of 2016 Ford Escape models and find the one that's right for you! Tom's Ford Blog|
